BEFORE dragging the '.pk3' files into the doom 'base' folder read the key below to see which files you can and can't put in Pay attention to the letter each '.pk3' file has been assigned (eg. Look at the names of each '.pk3' file in the folder. Extract Contents of the 'Ultimate_DoomVisor_v2.13' Zip file to somewhere where you can easily access each file (I recommend putting the contents on you desktop)Ģ. *note (This part can get a bit confusing)ġ. If prompted, Run doom through original DOS (If you select play Doom 2 then it will run the new Bethesda doom and any installed mods will not be ran) Rinse and repeat for however many Doom games you want to apply this to and for however many mods you have installed(The Ultimate Doom, Doom II, Final Doom, and Master Levels of Doom)Ħ. Type or Copy/Paste 'Path=PB3Zv0.8.5.pk3' right under ĥ. Open the 'gzdoom-(YourPCUserNameHere).ini' and scroll down to where you see Ĥ. Run the game once to have the 'gzdoom-(YourPCUserNameHere).ini' created automatically.ģ. Copy/Move 'PB3Zv0.8.5.pk3' over to the 'base' folder located within the doom 2 steam folderĢ. Delete 'dosbox.exe', then rename 'gzdoom.exe' to 'dosbox.exe'ġ. Copy all files from the 'GZDoom' zip folder to your Steam Doom base folderĦ. Open 'base' folder (if you are in the Master Levels of Doom folder you will not see a 'base' folder 4.That's ok, just apply the following steps below in that folder - as if you are treating it like it's a /base folder)ĥ. Open the GZDoom zip file you downloaded ģ. Install Doom then locate the folder in explorer (Steam/steamapps/common/(Doom 2)Ģ. However the episode despite problems with navigation and some nasty ambushes is really enjoyable, you have tons of secrets to explore, lots of ammo and bonuses to find + these are not slaughter type maps with thousands of monsters.1. Some of ambushes are extremely nasty and dangerous, the most dangerous one is when you are on your way to find the secret teleporter to the E2M9 Decommisioned Mining Checkpoint, you are trapped with multiple Barons of Hell in a really small corridor. Levels that can give you quite a headache during the exploration are the Delta Labs with a cental hub similar to the Dead Simple where you have access to four different paths and previous map E2M3 Waste Runoff Control because of the size and mazes. The maps are in my opinion way more complex and longer than those from Martian Fury, they also have more monsters with some of them appearing for the first time (Mancubi and Pain Elementals), the traps are also more frequent. The frequency of skull switches, flesh, pools of blood and lava is way higher than previously, of course it is mixed with the techbase texture set but the demons and their masters simply turned this former colony into outpost of Hell. While in previous episode the level of merging two realms - hellish and human was quite low and was bigger whenever we were close to the Alpha Matter Transmission Station, this place has been completely overrun by Hell itself. But going back to the beginning, if you watched my previous playthrough of episode 'MARTIAN FURY', we begin on the other side of the transmitter that we had to enter previously, but things are way worse than we expected. Not only you are surrounded by multiple Archviles in a very small trap room, but also if you play without double jumping + ledge grab, there is no possibility to come back to the surface, thus you are blocked permanently. If you remember the E2M6 Fake Exit, in this remake of the second episode of The Ultimate Doom - The Shores of Hell, it's cranked up to eleven, once you fall into this known trap, there is no chance to return, absolutely zero. Please note that the Project Brutality 3.0 in its current state is still Work In Progress, so bugs are to be expected, together with crashes to desktop (same with addons, they are not 100% always compatible and actual). Project Brutality 3.0 is an upcoming version of one of the best available mods for the classic Doom - expect a lot of fun when playing it.
